So I am Jewish, but my Dad is Catholic. So we have a small Christmas celebration each year for him. This year I decided to bake a Cheesecake Apple Strudel. I've never baked before. But I have been on HUGE cooking trip.
( I made a huge mess >_< )
It turned out ok. Not great. It wasn't my fault though! It was the recipe! The recipe for the crust just wasn't that great. The filling was pretty good though.
So, in continuation of my cooking trip. I have been cooking a lot lately. Various things, some good some not... All the recipe's fault... Tomorrow is a big day though. I am having my Hanukkah/Christmas/New Years/Robyn's Job Promotion celebration, with my bestest best friend. The menu should be good... All of which I am making from scratch by the way >_<

Japanese Style Fruit Cake (not our fruit cake, but a cake cake with fruit as the topping)
I made the cake part of my cake tonight. OMG was it a pain in the ass!!!!! Tomorrow I am going to ice it and decorate it. I think it will be good, but definitely easier to make the second time. Then again, this is only my second time baking anything that wasn't ready made. So I am still proud of myself. Tomorrow morning I am going to prepare the gyoza so all I have to do is fry them.
Now don't you wish you were my best friend so you could get this kind of service? XDDD There are a few of you that if you were close enough I would have you over regularly to eat. You know who you are ;) One of which will hopefully be my neighbor come mid 2009 XD
